The work of Iamazonia is overseen by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring its activities align with its mission and values. The Board puts in place all necessary policies, procedures, and safeguards to identify, design, and sponsor ecosystem projects locally. Each project will also be supported by its own dedicated governance structure, in compliance with Iamazonia’s principles as well as all applicable laws.

Giovanni Tria – Chairman of the Board of Directors

An Italian academic, economist and politician, Giovanni Tria graduated in Law and became Full Professor of Political Economy at the “Tor Vergata” University of Rome, where he also served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics. Over his career, he has advised public institutions, promoting economic development and institutional reform. From 2018 to 2019, he served as Italy’s Minister of Economy and Finance, contributing to key national and European initiatives.

Gaetano Buglisi – Founder and Chief Executive Officer

A pioneer of sustainable development in Italy, Gaetano Buglisi was among the first entrepreneurs to recognize the full potential of renewable energy and clean technologies. He has since built successful businesses in telecommunications, real estate and organic farming, always focusing on integrating environmental and social responsibility. His vision continues to guide innovative approaches to business across sectors, while he focuses his efforts on establishing Iamazonia.

Giovanna Della Posta – Board Member

With over 25 years’ experience across telecommunications, energy, insurance and real estate, Giovanna Della Posta has led major transformation projects supporting sustainable growth and business model innovation. From 2019 to 2024, she was CEO of Invimit Sgr SpA, the asset management company of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. She also sits on the board of Arexpo Urban Innovation and advises on urban regeneration and strategic investments.

Guido Lombardo – Board Member

An international investment and finance expert, Guido Lombardo is currently Board Member at Gardant Investor SGR, after having served as CEO and Chief Investment Officer. With over 40 years’ experience in leading global institutions including Harvest Investment Partners, Fortress Investment, Morgan Stanley, Italfondiario and Hambros Bank, he has specialized in innovative investment solutions.

Francisco Javier Fiz Perez – Board Member

Professor of Psychology at the European University of Rome, Francisco Javier Fiz Perez co-directs its Laboratory of Applied Economics and Health and collaborates widely on ethical business and social innovation. With degrees in philosophy, psychology and social bioethics, and a PhD in social bioethics, he has authored over 300 publications. He is actively engaged with international organizations promoting responsible leadership, sustainability and the development of emerging markets.

Massimo Sonego – Board Member

An expert in mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, Mr Sonego has served on boards of several international joint ventures and listed companies, as well as academic and industry associations. With over 25 years’ experience at Morgan Stanley and Citigroup, he has a proven track record in delivering financial results and operational excellence across global markets. His expertise includes strategic development, capital allocation and leadership in complex cross-border transactions.
