We put people at the center of every project
Our model is based on five defining principles that guide the design and implementation of current and prospective Iamazonia projectsIamazonia works with people who live in and around our project areas to understand their needs and create opportunities that improve everyday life – from services and education to jobs and infrastructure. Participation is active: people can access employment, training, and educational support as part of our projects. We ensure this through communication and dialogue at every stage.
We use nature-based solutions to deliver tangible benefits
Our projects employ nature-based solutions that deliver climate, environmental, and social benefits. Alongside sustainable forest management – based on low-impact techniques and long regeneration cycles – we invest in sustainable agriculture, water systems, and renewable energy. These actions protect biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and generate new sources of sustainable growth in the areas where we operate.
We use CO₂ emissions offsetting to fund real change, responsibly
CO₂ emissions offsetting is a co-benefit of our projects and a key source of funding that makes sustainable forest management and social investment possible. Unlike other market solutions, Iamazonia’s carbon credit revenues directly fund key project deliverables, including local services and environmental conservation. We also pay taxes where we operate, rejecting tax avoidance/tax planning or optimization even through consolidated industry practices to ensure climate finance benefits local communities and investors not intermediaries and pure speculators.
We work in open partnership with others
Our open architecture model brings together local people, institutions, and organizations across sectors – from local authorities and research centers to private actors and technical experts. This collaborative approach encourages shared knowledge, strengthens accountability, and increases the resilience of every project we support.
We commit to the highest standards
We meet rigorous environmental and social standards across all our activities. Through independent certification, scientific monitoring, and transparent reporting, we ensure outcomes that are credible, traceable, and aligned with the expectations of partners, investors, and people on the ground – today and tomorrow.
We innovate by bringing institutional financial investors to climate finance
We are innovating by using market standard capital markets solutions and structures to ensure transparency, accountability and measurable returns. By reducing the risks in the financial structures of projects we can access funding at more attractive costs hence put more money on the ground. Our ground-breaking approach is open to all to follow and enable more projects and larger projects to become a reality.
